Elections

Thank you for your interest in the 2017 Arkansas Rice Farmers election. The ARF Board is composed of 30 farmers, three from each of the state’s ten rice districts. Eligible farmers must have rice acreage registered with the United Stated Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (USDA FSA) in the year preceding the election. A farmer is eligible for service in the district where his or her acreage is registered.

The following districts and seats to be filled during this election cycle are as follows:

  • District 1: 1 seat
  • District 2: 2 seats
  • District 3: 2 seats
  • District 4: 2 seats
  • District 5: 2 seats
  • District 6: 2 seats
  • District 7: 2 seats
  • District 8: 1 seat
  • District 9: 1 seat
  • District 10: 2 seats

An open petition process makes is possible for any Arkansas rice grower to run for a seat in his/her district. Arkansas farmers interested in seeking a position on the ARF Board of Directors must submit a written request for a candidate petition from the Arkansas Rice Farmers Board by January 3, 2017. Requests can be submitted by email to Lauren@noblestrat.com.

Petitions must include 15 signatures of support from USDA FSA registered rice farmers from the district you are to represent and a candidate biography. The district you represent must be the district where your county Farm Service Agency (FSA) control office is located. Materials must be received at the following address by January 20, 2017.
